Final Day at bretton

For the final day at bretton woods we basically just skied around for the morning and went tubing after lunch. We also had a conversation with James on how the rotation went and what we would have liked to have done, basically just debriefed on the first half of the semester.  In the morning Cory and I got a private tour of Bretton Woods from Doll face, Sean Doll.  I am going to offer my 6 questions about private tours.

1. Sustainability - Private tours can create another stream of revenue, which helps the company become financially sustainable.  It can also make a guest feel more comfortable with the mountain and want to keep coming back.

2. Service - Private tours is a complete guest service, they are there to service a need for the guest.  They go around and show people the ins and outs of the mountain and get tailored to peoples personal skills.

3. Safety - Because people are getting a tour, they become more familiar with the mountain.  When they are more familiar with the mountain they are less likely to go down the wrong trail that may be to hard for them where they may get hurt.

4. Consumer/Guest - These benefit the guest by showing them around the mountain and making them feel like they are a part of the local scene.

5. Employee - It creates another job for someone to fill.

6. Owner - Creates another stream of revenue and makes people want to come back because they enjoyed their time.

Bretton woods Rentals

Over this past weekend i spent my time in rentals and had a pretty good time.  It was pretty slow on Friday, but Saturday had a good turn out.

1. Financial sustainability - Creates away for people to enjoy skiing with out having to purchase the expensive equipment.  It also creates a new stream of revenue for the  mountain

2. Service - like sustainability it makes it so customers can enjoy skiing with out having to buy the expensive equipment.  They also have performance demos so people who travel dont have to bring their skis or if they want to try out newer gear.

3. Safety - They provide safe equipment for people to use because they are always doing release checks on the bindings to make sure they release at the proper torque.

4. The consumer gets the benefit of being able to use the resorts equipment for a relatively  inexpensive fee and they don't have to go out and spend the 800 dollars or more to buy skis and other gear.   It is also great for beginners to try skiing before they go out and invest in their own gear.

5. Rentals provides a large amount of jobs for employees because of the huge rush in the morning.  They have to have alot of people on staff to account for the big rushes.  The employees also get to have fun and interact with the guests which is always a good job.

6. The owner gets an added stream of revenue.  They also get the added skier visits because beginners are coming with out gear so they need some to rent.

Bretton woods Guest services

Over the weekend i worked in guest services and it was fun.  It is not really my most favorite department, but it was a good experience.

Sustainability - Guest services works with people to help them with their problems.  They help create a friendly place and a piece of mind because they work to resolve issues.  This helps guests feel better and makes them want to come back, thus helping with financial sustainability.

Service - Guest services is a service, hence the name.  They work with guests to get tickets and assist them with other issues like getting them shuttles, helping with injuries, giving guests information about the resort etc.

Safety - Guest services is a place for information to safely make your way around the mountain.  For beginners they will help map out what trails to stay on so that they do not end up going down a black diamond trail.  They also are a central hub for injured guests to go to get medical attention.

Customer/Guest - Guest services is centralized around helping the guests.  They will do anything in their power to make the guest feel welcomed and help them have a memorable stay.

Employee/associate - Guest services adds to the big picture of making guests happy and increasing skier visits.  If skier visits are increased then there will be more jobs and people can work overtime.  They also work with other employees in other departments to make sure a customer is happy.

Owner - The owner gets the piece of mind that their guests are happy.  happy guests = more money being spent.  A good guest services department will make a customer feel good about the resort and want to keep coming back to spend their money.
